It's Me, Hi! (Kelsi B)

My name is Kelsi Becker and I am the owner of KelsiB Photography (10 years)! I have been a photography enthusiast all my life! I am a self-taught photographer specializing in natural light photography but I have also expanded to include a small indoor studio! I currently shoot in manual with a Canon R5 (I use my old Canon 6D Mark II as my backup) and currently use the following lenses: Sigma Art 35mm 1.4 (this is almost always on my camera these days!), Canon EF 70-200mm 2.8 USM, Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM lens, Canon 85mm f/1.8 USM, Canon 24-105mm f/4.0 USM, Tamron SP 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2 (this is another main lens!), and Tamron Macro 90mm F/2.8 1:1. I am currently working with a GodoxPro200 for studio lighting as well as on-camera flashes for weddings.

I view the world in such a creative way and families are my absolute favorite subjects to photograph (though I am also a sucker for weddings and snuggly, squishy little newborn babies!) I see beauty in every little thing and I would love to share that with you through my work.

My photography style is a very modern, journalistic/interactive approach. While I will always provide a few of traditional "everybody smile!" photos, I believe a session should just go with the flow and I let you be you! Families with littles - when the littles aren't cooperating (and let's be honest...that's sure to happen at some point!), take that moment to make them giggle. Give them love and kisses, toss them in the air, swing them, tickle them, or whatever is unique to your family. Take a moment to breathe in your children or significant other. Close your eyes and let your hug linger. Connect with nature. I encourage you to view your photo session as less of a stressful photography venture but more like a playdate with your kids. If you're not into that kind of thing, then unfortunately I'm not your photographer. Behind the scenes, I have three tiny humans that keep me on my toes (which is why families are my favorite to photograph - it matches the season of life that I'm currently in)! They're currently 6, 5, and 3! ;) We live on a small ranch near Sherman Reservoir in central Nebraska. We raise sheep, cattle, and also have a few other random animals around as well. If you're coming to me for your session, it's likely that you'll be using the public land around this area - there's plenty of it - and it's gorgeous! I also have access to plenty of private land near Sherman Reservoir as well as some gorgeous land near the Callaway/Oconto area.

I was a former preschool teacher at Arcadia Public Schools, but as of May 2022 I am a full time photographer! So excited for this new chapter of my life and I'd love for it to include YOU!
